The voice lives on the breath and, bolstering every breath she takes, ELLC emits pure emotion, passion and energy. With melodies that dance into your ears and harmonies that linger gently in your heart. Nigerian-born and Northampton-raised, ELLC religiously crafted their musical intuition that they continue to lean on to guide through and beyond their rigid apostolic upbringing. Her ongoing love affair with musical theatre, pop-punk and classical choral composition litters her work in unexpected, chameleonic ways.
A contralto through and through, ELLC has performed at The Royal Albert Hall, Sage Gateshead, Chorales Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival and Eurosonic Festival. They have appeared as a soloist on Sky Arts programming and BBC Radio 2 as part of Soul Sanctuary Gospel Choir and worked as a session musician and topline writer for other artists and arts organisations including Shunaji, Rambert Dance, KSI, Ayman Sinada.
With a creative practice deeply rooted in storytelling and experimentation, she rejects boxes and pigeon holes, her blend of jazz and soul grooves couple beautifully with her ongoing electronic edge. Intuitively created, meticulously crafted and honestly shared.
