Born in Rossetenville and raised in the East Rand, Nelisa Masondo, better known as Elliie, is a singer and songwriter that fuses Trap, RnB and soul together to share her stories through the art of music.
Being of Zulu descent, and growing up in a strict Christian household played a huge role in how her music sounds. Heavily influenced by music at a young age, she taught herself how to play the keyboard at 9, and since then has been part of the choir her entire school career, and even became deputy-head.
Her music career started in 2019, when her best friend and close artist friend gave her the nudge to make music her career. She’s then hopped on the Soundcloud scene, which was where she gained most of her fans.
