Elliott Armen, a 25 year old author and composer, grew up between Paris and his natal land, Saint-Malo in Brittany. Since his teenage years Elliott composes music with guitar and piano, inspired by his attachment to the landscape that surrounds his family house, anchored on the border of a beautiful estuary.
For his second album, Elliott Armen decided to go to Scotland, dreaming of a particularly isolated recording on the Isle of Lewis.
This is where Peter Fletcher's inspirational Black Bay Studio is located, on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Elliott Armen took the ferry from Saint-Malo and then the bus to reach the island's main town, Stornoway. From there, he began his walk for 200 kilometers through splendid Celtic desert landscapes. After pitching his tent under the stars for twelve days, he arrived at his destination, fully imbued by the island. It was then that he immersed himself in total calm to record this new opus.
This album is a journey through grief, love and solitude. A translation of the great landscapes that runs the Celtic lands. A hymn to melancholy as a mean to reach joy.
