Elsa Carmona

Elsa Carmona began her career at the other end of the music industry compared to many. She was brought into the major label world, writing songs for both herself and others. The restrictions and spectacle of the major industry drove her creative joy to fade, and she began looking for new ways to fulfill her needs as an artist. She decided to start again, independently, but now full of fire.

Carmona was born in Barcelona but grew up in Stockholm. As a kid she was, thanks to her father, surrounded by music, which made songwriting become a natural part of life. In her young years she struggled with feelings of belonging - there was never one place that felt quite like home. This longing led to her traveling back and forth between Barcelona, Madrid and Stockholm. The search for connection and home has since become a poignant source of inspiration when writing music for herself.

Since then she has been busy working on her new EP ‘Sacred Rebel’ with the help of producer Daniel Fagerström (Jenny Wilson, Nina Kinert, Viagra Boys). The five track EP is set for release in 2021 and looks to be Carmonas most expansive work yet. The emotional scope on this record is vast. While Carmonas breathy vocals confidently shift between trembling and assertive, the playful production pulls you in and makes you not just a stand byer, but a participant in her world. While listening through the entirety of the record you can’t help but get a sense of both clarity and liberty.
