Hi, I’m Andrew, or better known as Ely Waves and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to put here so I’m just winging it. I started making music in high school after hearing my friend rap one time and thought “I’m no good at that but I want to be”. I then spent the next 8 years of my life pouring my heart & soul into my music. Can’t even tell you how many late nights I had in college after going to class, working a shift as a busser at the Cincinnati Cheesecake Factory, staying up till 4 am writing songs about my life and then waking up and doing it all over again. Those days are what shaped me into the artist I am today.

What you hear from me is at its core, me. It’s my raw thoughts and honest feelings about whatever I’m going through or thinking in that moment, and I don’t try and overthink it much more than that. I want to capture my emotion in a moment of time. My hope is that somebody out there can relate to it. Today with tens of millions of streams I’m beyond grateful I’ve been able to make an impact on people. The vast majority of my music is sad, and that’s because that’s when I feel the most. I’ve suffered through depression, anxiety, and have lost my identity more than once in my life. Though recently, things have been changing for me in a very positive way. I’m working through my demons and tbh, that’s been a challenge musically but my passion & need to create will never leave.
