Among the many projects Detroit-area artist Jim Konen worked on in the early 2000s, his EM project was perhaps his most ambient and moody. His first release as EM, Expidite Music, "expedited" a variety of moods over the course of nine songs, incorporating exotic worldbeat-style sounds with ambient electronica. He followed this release with a similar album, EM/2, that also incorporated some more dancefloor-style grooves, not to mention the three-song 9/11 trilogy: "DUDA," "911," and "Aftermath." ~ Jason Birchmeier
