Known best for styles on Hammond Organ and her keytar (a custom Alesis Wireless Vortex named Carlos), Emiko is an award-winning songwriter/recording artist. With a catalogue of over 3,000 songs including #1 pop/rock, R&B/soul songs, full theater and film scores, and J-pop, Emiko composed for over 20 TV series while currently composing a documentary and a feature film.
Her latest album, “LA After the War,” was recorded entirely in quarantine and was released in late 2020. Emiko played Carlos the Keytar in Major Lazer’s latest music video featuring Marcus Mumford, “Lay Your Head on Me,” which has over 6.4 million views. Prior, she shared the stage with Cyndi Lauper, Jackson Browne, Keb Mo’ and more.
Emiko began her career at the age of two and a half, retiring as a classical concert pianist by age 12. Her impressive catalogue recognized by the Songwriters Hall of Fame in her early 20's, it was clear Emiko would make her mark as a songwriter. She's graced the pages of Billboard, Music Connection, FM Sound, Keyboard Magazine, and countless other publications as a songwriter for SONY/ATV, Universal Music Group, InGrooves, Fontana, and now 37 Records/McJames Music Publishing.
Emiko's songs have garnered critical acclaim and #1 spots on radio and fan charts across the world.
Keyboard Magazine said "Invoking Billy Preston as much as Billy Joel, synth-slinging Emiko proudly doesn't fit into the "singer-songwriter" box ... we expect to hear a lot more from her in the coming months.”
