Emily Potthast is a composer and pianist located in Washington, DC. Heavily influenced by Sigur Rós, Yann Tiersen, and Max Richter, she focuses on subtle melodies and layers of textured sound - primarily using piano and synthesizers. Briefly playing as the keyboardist for Carousel Rogues in 2006, she currently focuses on solo writing and composition. Starting at the age of 9, she was trained in classical piano and surrounded by musical influences growing up. Her father Chuck Potthast is also a musician and song writer.
