Emiola is phenomenal. He always says, "I grew up with a lot of different genres of music, even gospel music, but in this age, the gospel has been sidelined for church folks alone. But the good news, which is gospel, is for everyone," says the Lagos, Nigeria-based musician.
Coming from a music family with a music-loving father who is also a poet and a mother who is a lead singer at a local church, he joined the local church choir at 6, led a teenage choir to a singing contest victory as a teenager, and picked up huge interest in several instruments and music production.
His love for soul, funk, contemporary R&B, and gospel grew as he was influenced by R. Kelly, Kirk Franklin, Brandy, J. Moss, and others.
