Emma Platais grew up between the U.S., Central America, and Brazil, shaping a trilingual songwriting voice that blends Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Rooted in the traditions of bossa nova and American folk, her music explores themes of intimacy, identity, and the poetic spaces in between.
After relocating to Mexico City in 2022, Platais began collaborating with Loli Molina, David Aguilar, and Patrick Watson. Now based in Los Angeles, she continues to evolve her sound while maintaining a deep connection to her multilingual and cross-cultural roots. Since arriving in LA, she has performed at venues such as Hotel Café and The Ford (as part of the coro for Bajo la Luna), been featured on Soho Radio, and appeared at festivals in Denver and San José del Cabo. In 2025, Platais will release a new EP and a string of collaborative singles with Luz Elena (Y La Bamba), Rulo, and Pedro Fonte.
