Eneida Marta is one of the most genuine and vibrant African voices and a true ambassador of the Bissau-Guinean music.
She loves her country with passion, and it was this same passion that led her to embrace several humanitarian causes, having been appointed UNICEF’s ambassador to the Bissau-Guinea.

In 2006 one of the world music giants, Putumayo World Music featured her music in the compilation “An Afro-Portuguese Odyssey”.
That same year Eneida Marta takes first prize in a World Music competition with the song “Mindjer Dôlce Mel” that Putumayo would also feature in the compilation “Acoustic Africa”. Later in 2008, WOMEX selected Eneida Marta for a showcase before more than three thousand delegates, a truly special moment that was the beginning of an acclaimed international tour.

These are just some highlights of the journey that brought Eneida to where she now stands, a journey across dozens of stages, from Madrid to Barcelona and Amsterdam, from Vancouver to Rome, Budapest, Mexico City, Boston, London and Bern, in all of them the same heartfelt applause that rises after you’ve found a voice filled with soul, dreams, pain and joy.
