**ENEMY PLANES** is a Minneapolis-based indie force founded by frontman YËSAC, drummer Joe Call, and guitarist Joe Gamble. Since landing in 2012, the band has carved out a sound that defies easy classification—merging haunting vocals, analog grit, and cinematic tension into immersive sonic landscapes. Their music doesn’t just play—it unfolds, pulling listeners into a world where emotion simmers beneath the surface and every note feels deliberate, hypnotic, and just a little dangerous.
Their debut album, “Beta Lowdown” (2016), co-produced with Duane Lundy (Sturgill Simpson, Jim James), was a defining moment—blending vintage synths, falsetto melodies, and layered guitars into a sound that’s both expansive and deeply intimate.
The band quickly built national momentum, touring with the Meat Puppets and appearing at festivals like SXSW and Summerfest. In 2015, they won the global Hard Rock Rising competition, emerging from over 13,000 bands to perform in Barcelona alongside Kings of Leon and Avicii.
Now, after a period of focused writing and studio work, ENEMY PLANES is preparing for its next evolution. With two full-length albums currently in development and the first wave of releases slated for later in 2025, the band is poised to deliver its most ambitious and boundary-pushing work to date—continuing to explore the intersections of emotion, identity, and culture through a lens that is both deeply personal and unapologetically experimental.
