Eric Saade was born in 1990 in Helsingborg in Sweden, and was discovered at a talent show in his hometown thirteen years old. At the age of 16 Eric signed his first record deal, resulting in three singles and an album.
In 2010 he got his major breakthrough with the song ”Manboy” in Melodifestivalen. The success resulted in the debut album ”Masquerade” and an extensive summer tour. The following year, Eric won Melodifestivalen with the song ”Popular” and followingly represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2017 he participated in the tv-show ”Så mycket bättre” together with artists like Sabina Dumba, Icona Pop and Moneybrother.
His single ”Wide Awake” (2016), a collaboration with the Swedish electronic pop act State of Sound and Russian DJ’s and producers Filatov & Karas features vocals from Eric and Gustaf Norén, also known from Mando Diao. ”Wide Awake” has been streamed over 10 million times and has reached numerous top lists throughout Europe.
In 2019 he released his first Swedish EP. Together with Anis don Demina he got a huge hit with the single “Postcard”.
Celebrating the 10 year anniversary since winning Melodifestivalen Eric is now back with his English pop-sound entering the Melodifestivalen stage. In 2021 he will release a lot of new music and an new Enligsh EP.
