Erik Borelius is a Swedish guitarist, composer, and melodic craftsman whose career spans four decades. Since his debut Perfect Partners in 1986, he has built a signature sound: a daring yet sensitive fusion of styles, where technical virtuosity serves emotion and story rather than showmanship.
After two albums with EMI, Erik founded his own label EB Music. His first release, SexTioTvå (1993), won a Swedish Grammy; the follow-up Duende (1994) was nominated. Praised for his tasteful balance between acoustic and electric guitar, he blends precision with expressiveness.
Influenced early on by Jimi Hendrix and Al di Meola, as well as classical, film music, jazz-rock and Nordic folk, Erik has continuously expanded his musical language.
In 2023 he began a creative collaboration with Prisma Music Group, a label known for championing premium sounds including Spanish guitar, classical, world music styles and other genres often underserved in mainstream streaming. This partnership has deepened his focus on the acoustic guitar, exploring intimacy, dynamics, and rich harmonic textures while retaining the cinematic scope of his earlier work.
Recent albums like Expedition Inside and Strings Alive showcase this evolution, weaving acoustic resonances with nuanced arrangements.
