Eskiz was formed in 2007 by Deniz Ağan (guitars/vocals), Sedat Girgin (drums), and Can Tunaboylu (bass). Subsequent years saw lineup changes, with Uygar Çetiner replacing Sedat Girgin on drums (due to the latter deciding to build a career in illustration and painting) and Yasemin Özler joining for live performances in keys and vocals, leading the band to a more layered sound both instrumentally and vocally.
From 2007 to 2022, Eskiz tirelessly promoted their unique rock'n roll music, blending their musical ethos with Turkish lyrics and vocals. In addition to numerous singles and EPs, Eskiz released three LPs in their final six years of activity, each showcasing a diverse array of styles, sounds, and dynamics. Characterized by improvisation since their inception, their live performances were never repetitive and often reached exhilarating volumes.
The band's final album, "Ateşle Beni," recorded independently in 2022, marked the end of their journey together, citing economic challenges in post-pandemic Turkey and limited performance opportunities as contributing factors to their disbandment. In November 2022, Eskiz announced their dissolution, culminating in a fully recorded final performance in April 2023, commemorating their 15-year legacy and bidding farewell to their audience.
