With almost 3M views on Youtube for her song ‘Cupid's Fall’, Esty Richard is a Malaysian-Sabahan singer/songwriter and no stranger to the local music scene in Kuala Lumpur.
Esty first started delving into the music industry on her own with her guitar at age 18, playing venues such as Mardi Gras @ One Utama and Groove Junction Hartamas. She was known for her soothing jazz mash-ups that earned her, her first nomination for Best College Act at the Voice Independent Music Awards 2010 (VIMA) under the Bite My Music
Global Awards platform.
Esty was then recruited to become the frontwoman of a rock band called, ‘Once Upon A Time There Was A Sausage Named Bob’ late 2010 with an impressive vocal range compared to the likes of Paramore’s, - Hayley Williams. The band managed to play big festivals such as Urbanscapes, Rockaway and opening for ‘The All American Rejects’ during the
Guinness Arthur’s Day Festival held in Sepang back in 2013. The band, however, went on hiatus after and so did Esty.
2021 is fresh and Esty is back with a completely new sound experimenting with electronic beats. Esty Richard is now ready to get back into the spotlight and keep her audience on their feet.
