From small town beginnings in Auckland, New Zealand, producer, artist and writer ETHAN became a whiz on the piano as a youngster, and found himself learning his favourite pop songs on the keys by ear. Inspired by the sounds of nostalgic 90s/Y2k pop and R&B, his music showcases rhythmic, sticky production and soulful melodies. He lists his biggest influences as Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Timbaland, Tinashe and JoJo.
He dropped his debut solo EP ‘Divine Intervention’ in 2024 and has garnered almost
4 million views on the music videos, and 40k subscribers on YouTube since. In 2023, ETHAN was hand-selected to be part of APRA SONGHUBS Pride Songwriting Camp by curator Troye Sivan . He has written and worked with notable co-producers and co-writers including Lucy Blomkamp (6LACK, Banks, Khalid), JOY. (The Kid Laroi), Kota Banks (KATSEYE) and more.
His work has been championed by Grindr’s official ‘New Music Frigay’, MTV UK, Germany's Kaltblut Magazine, Queerty, pop/R&B sensation JoJo and former 'Billboard Pride' editor Jon Ali, as well as being featured in multiple Spotify editorial playlists globally.
As a queer artist of Chinese descent, he is building a strong community who identifies with his art, with over 118k followers on Tik Tok and 100k on Instagram.
