Ethics began as a post-hardcore/metalcore band hailing from small-town Hershey, Pennsylvania in 2015. Founded by guitarists Jeff Strine, Robbie Warden and bassist, Billy Jones. Not long after breaking ground, the band added vocalist, Alan McCutcheon to the group. The band took an unexpected turn, adding spoken-word to the mix. Creating a mix of ambient driven poetry and fleeting distorted guitars. The band has had the pleasure of performing with notable acts such as, Miss May I, Upon a Burning Body, The Funeral Portrait, The Browning and even Crazytown. McCutcheon's vocals and passionate spoken-word combined, brought the new sound the band was looking for. Between classic metalcore guitar work and industrial driven bass, the band was able to write uniquely appetizing songs and recorded their first EP, 'Ethos' in the summer of 2016 at Rock Mill Industries and Automaton Studios. The album was released later the following November. The band has branched out to venues and locations on the eastern coast since then and performed with several drummers, including Alan Thompson and former American Idol contestant and pop-vocalist Brenden Starr.
