Eudaimoniq

Tim grew up in the small Canadian city of Pembroke, ON, and has always been interested in music while growing up. He first started piano lessons when he was 6 years old, then later moving on trying new instruments such as the clarinet and guitar. Upon studying at Queens University in Kingston, ON, he gained a new interest in DJing for Zeta Psi's house parties and learning EDM production, putting all his prior music theory skills to use. His curiosity and motivation to pursue EDM production arose from a mixture of love for music, love for music festivals such as Toronto's Veld music festival, and a very cool unique / interactive EDM museum in Amsterdam called "Our House", where he got to practice mixing a track for the very first time. The artist name Eudaimoniq comes the greek word "Eudaimonia" which directly translates to happiness / human flourishing. Aristotle considered eudaimonia to be the highest human good, the ultimate goal of human life, achieved through living a virtuous life and actively exercising good values. This word is important to Tim because he attributes it to the important values felt in EDM culture such as PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect) which he felt at EDM festivals when people of all different ages, backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities can come together in unity to get lost in the spirit of the music. Tim is grateful to his late parents who instilled these values in him, while providing him with the love and support to follow his dreams.
