Evan Melada was born in the parking lot behind the Wheels gas station. He sang the Melada down through Nevada and the bitch hasn't been the same since.
"Evan Melada’s sound delivers a concisely crafted tone without reservation. Hints of jazzy piano when combined with heavy R&B synths create a uniquely dreamy, yet equally enigmatic feel to his tone, leaving you wanting more of this perplexing contradiction. Every second of his work walks the line between giving into the darkness and floating away into space, all mediated by his hauntingly resonating vocals. Melada released his debut album Maladaptive Daydreams on December 7, 2018."
Demos of Dark Disco and X-Rated Movie Star were reviewed by POPMUZIK (Sweden) and Direct Actu (France), as well as played on Cambridge 105 and Nam Radio in 2019, embracing a kind of off beat, campy darkness.
Melada released the studio version of Dark Disco June 2021 alongside a short film music video, screened at the first Global Queer Arts Festival August 2021.
