Evelina Sašenko

EVELINA SAŠENKO – the graduate student of the specialty of jazz vocal of the Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy (LMTA).
The performer is the laureate of many children and youth singing contests (starting with “Dainu dainele”, ending with Golden Plate, The International Festival of Authors and Composers of Polish Song – Wrzesnia, Song Festival Carpathia, etc.) and actively gigging soloist.
Most of her musical ideas and desires are implemented by Evelina in her own initiated musical projects, for example, “Love Story According to Edith Piaf”, “Chopin Jazz Inn”, “All That Cabaret”, “Tango Flame”. Also, she can be frequently heard in newer musical directions, projects and concerts: “Aida”, “With Love to Barbra Streisand“, “Maria de Buenos Aires”, “Love Songs”, “Shining Broadway Musicals”, etc.
Evelina is being frequently invited to sing with the best orchestras of the country: Lithuanian National Symphonic Orchestra, St. Christopher’s Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, Kaunas Symphonic Orchestra and Kaunas Big Band.
In 2011, after the victory in the national selection, the singer successfully represented Lithuanian in the Eurovision contest, which took place in Düsseldorf (Germany). In the first semi-final of Eurovision (Düsseldorf), the commission gave the maximum amount of points to Lithuania - 113 points. With the song “C‘est ma vie“, Evelina took the 19th place in this contest, and in the finals of “Eurovision” this year, there took part 25 countries.
