Nicaraguan Symphonic Metal young act: Excelsyum, born in 2012, is one of the very few bands of its genre in Central America. Influenced by great bands like Nightwish, Epica and Apocalyptica (bands to whom they pay tribute from time to time in Nicaragua), with 13 years of trajectory, they have built with solid effort a roller coaster of melodies, powerful riffs and profound lyrics condensed into a strong band with a lot of heart and enthusiasm.
To date Excelsyum is made up of Lucía Espinoza (Founder, Singer), Rodrigo Solórzano (Lead Guitarist), Miguel López (Rhythm Guitarist, Male vocals), Frank Barrios (Drums), Bosco Villavicencio (Piano and Keyboard) and Donald McRea (Bass).
Excelsyum has been the opening act in Nicaragua for the Italians Il Volo (2013 at the Ruben Darío National Theater), for the Argentine Mario Ian, former vocalist of Rata Blanca (2017 at Ronkonrolas), for the Finnish Timo Tolkki, founder and former lead guitarist of Stratovarius (2022 at Rock-House Managua) and were chosen as the support band for José Andrëa, former vocalist of the Spanish band Mago de oz in 2023 for his succesful concert at El Chaman, Nicaragua.
