HIROに憧れて16歳からダンスを始める。
2002年、クラブで踊っていたところを偶然見ていたMAKIDAIとUSAの目にとまり声を掛けられる。
翌03年10月、EXPG東京校の立ち上げから運営を任され、インストラクターを経て、06年にEXILEに加入。
パフォーマーとしての活動に加え、数々の映画、ドラマ、舞台、声優など様々な分野で活躍。
俳優として2009年の初主演映画『ちゃんと伝える』で日本映画批評家大賞新人賞を受賞。
10年、中国公開のアンドリュー・ラウ監督作品『レジェンド・オブ・フィスト 怒りの鉄拳』で海外映画デビュー。2012年には大ヒットシリーズのドラマ『GTO』にて鬼塚英吉役で主演を務める、モデルとして17年からアジア人初となるRalph Laurenアンバサダーに就任し、18年と19年の2年連続で最高峰ラインPurple Labelの広告イメージモデル契約を結ぶ。
23年11月、LDH TAIWANのCEOに就任。
2026年、デビュー20周年を迎える。
