In February of 2015, the artist <a href="spotify:artist:3ZjJkRw68ynRdPB67y2mNA" data-name="Joshua Hall">Joshua Hall</a> decided he would write a new melody or riff every week and write, record, and release the best idea as a song or instrumental every month. Unfortunately, what was written did not fit neatly into the genre of Solo Classical Guitar/Singer-Songwriter music, so, he created "Extraneous Solutions" to be a band that could release whatever he happened to make up. "As an artist, it is incredibly liberating to be free of genre expectations and follow through on ideas and compositions that otherwise would be left unrecorded". (direct quote from Joshua Hall) If "Extraneous Solutions" was never made, there would be no "Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty" and that would be sad indeed.
