Eye Candy was a bedroom recording project that began in Palm Desert, CA with two friends (Juan Palencia, Mitchel Kerr) who shared similar idiosyncratic interests in music and sound. The duo recorded their debut full-length in a bedroom and then recruited Philadelphia indie producer/engineer Jeff Zeigler, who is best known for his own shoegaze project Arc in Round. As well as engineering and producing records with The War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, Purling Hiss, and A Sunny Day in Glasgow. Together, they created a lo-fi/hi-fi bedroom pop collage of "accidental moments" and sonic explorations. A "Beat Happening" meets ambient pop and psychedelia. Or as vocalist, Juan Palencia describes it, "drone pop".
