EYERL

Constantly seeking the here and now, EYERL uses the melodic tools of soul, alternative, folk, pop, and jazz as anchor and sail. Founded in 2021, on a literal bedrock in Central Austin, the duo attempts to infuse every song with the philosophy of return. Return to the source, to themselves, to community at large.

EYERL is the synergistic heartchild of Robb Safko and Dan Cohen. Blending bright guitar, primal saxophone, subtle piano, and two voices forged in long running friendship, the duo craft songs exploring the mystifying dualities of life. The great losses, transcendent healings, casual wounds, veins of inherent good. Their music not only tries to make sense of the human experience, but to honor it in all its angelic, dirt-addled forms.

This intersection is put on display in their debut song ‘Everything and Nothing,’ which is steeped in the hope of turning sadness into to beauty. Their most recent single ‘Ache’ is a tender examination of the sharp debris love can leave in its wake.

Their first full-length album, ‘Your Old Favorite Color’ is upcoming in the Fall of 2025. The record will be produced and have special appearances by the generational talent and friend Poet Hawkins.
