F ingers is a Melbourne, Australia-based trio that creates sparse, haunting darkwave folk with shadowy vocals, spacious acoustic guitars, fluid bass guitar, and sparingly used synthesizer. Consisting of <a href="spotify:artist:2TMEsfba3OCtE3uW2JDyk4">Tarquin Manek</a> and Sam Karmel (both of <a href="spotify:artist:4twEAkdEHQI0iE9SnhNIMJ">Bum Creek</a>) along with vocalist <a href="spotify:artist:6FVxEgfQsGrJ0BogIOYCd6">Carla dal Forno</a> (of <a href="spotify:artist:2FRTKn1TeFCvIw5xKlITkV">Mole House</a>), the group initially went by the name <a href="spotify:artist:53plDvlk4RR7nbU49LzLg2">Fingers Pty Ltd</a> and released a cassette titled Broken Fingers on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Night+People%22">Night People</a>. In 2014, <a href="spotify:artist:2TMEsfba3OCtE3uW2JDyk4">Manek</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6FVxEgfQsGrJ0BogIOYCd6">dal Forno</a> formed a duo called <a href="spotify:artist:1AkpMnAbZvX1y5jMfTV04A">Tarcar</a> and released their debut EP, Mince Glace, on the <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Blackest+Ever+Black%22">Blackest Ever Black</a> label. That label also released Hide Before Dinner, the debut LP by the newly rechristened F ingers, in 2015. The group also issued a limited tour-only cassette that year called Trilogy: They Got the Best Heart.
