Fabrice Maignan
Author - Composer - Performer
Fabrice Maignan was born on April 24, 1976 in Orléans (France).
He grew up in Sologne and lived in the family home until the age of 20 when he moved to Saint-Jean-de-Braye to be closer to his workplace where he worked part-time in the evening, which allowed him to combine work as an electrician and apply his training in electrical engineering.
It was his mother who passed on the musical genes to him, he says, as she played the piano in her youth before she lost her hearing at the age of 18.
When he was around 16, while visiting a friend, he discovered computer music on Atari and the immense creative possibilities.
After his studies at the Jean Lurçat high school in Saint-Jean-de-Braye, he obtained his CAP and BEP in electrical engineering.
His rather contrasting musical tastes of the works of artists like Jean Michel Jarre, Jones & Stephenson, Scooter, Francis Cabrel and even Johann Sebastian Bach accompanied his youth.
After spending a vacation in Canada, he discovered Quebec culture and music.
He will return there several times before finally going to live there in December 2002 where he will obtain his citizenship.
Today Fabrice lives in the Mauricie region with his daughter Lily who was born in 2014.
