FACEMAN (name classified per 18 USC § 3472-a) was the codename given to the chief researcher at the Office of Scientific Research and Development (OSRD) after World War II. FACEMAN was entrusted with exploring the frontiers of inter-dimensional travel, teleportation, and time-travel, and played a pivotal role in designing and developing various devices to support these cutting-edge fields. One such device, known as the Pleker, unexpectedly activated while FACEMAN was within its field-generating proximity. After a deafening bang and a blinding flash, FACEMAN vanished.

The team initially believed he had been disintegrated like the other objects in the machine’s vicinity. However, they later discovered that FACEMAN was not only alive but had been propelled through a wall and into multiple different realities, each inhabited by various and different versions of himself across dimensions. This astonishing revelation came to light through recordings produced by The Facetone Players, offering the OSRD both relief and a heightened sense of urgency to find a way to bring FACEMAN back to their own reality.

These are the tales of FACEMAN.
