'Fallback 5' is a Halifax pop punk solo project created by 16 year old 'Lazy Lu' (Lucas Garnhum).
Beginning in 2024 when he was just 15 years old, Lazy Lu recorded Fallback 5's debut single, 'My Love', a heartfelt pop rock anthem detailing the feeling of longing to go back to a romantic partner who has already moved on. With Lu's sorrowful vocals, catchy hooks, bitter sweet melodies, and the extended guitar solo bringing a powerful closing sequence to the over 6 minute long track, 'My Love' solidified a place for Fallback 5 in the extremely musically diverse Halifax DIY scene.
Now, Fallback 5 is exploring darker, moodier sounds with their upcoming single 'Where Did I Go Wrong?', an angry, moody reflection on an abusive relationship. 'Where Did I Go Wrong' explores the feelings of anger, regret, and confusion that many victims of abusive partners feel when looking back on their relationship with that person. It also serves as an anthem of strength, resilience, and awareness for victims of abuse of any kind.
