FAMP is an Austrian indie-rock band from Vienna, Austria. The four friends, who had met at school, started creating music in 2006. After a few initial shows, which they already played under their current name FAMP, the band members realized that there was potential for a career in music. Music competitions and gigs at festivals followed. In 2009, the band landed their first hit single with "Fulltime Lover", which was picked up by the Austrian alternative radio-channel FM4 and brought the band radio airtime and extended exposure. Their debut album "Shining Lightning", which was produced by Gerhard Vellusig and Rainer Spänle, was released in 2012 and marked their first big appearance in the world of music. The band played over a hundred shows, often as support acts for Bands like Stereophonics, Madsen and Killerpilze. They also landed in the charts with four of their singles.
In 2014, they began the songwriting and recording process for their second album "EXIST". With the guidance of their new producer Johannes Herbst, the band managed to find a new sound for themselves. The rough, adolescent sound of their previous releases was replaced by a more commercial, spherical sound. Bigger shows, such as guest appearances at "Circus Halligalli" with the German TV presenters Joko & Klaas, MDR Sputnik and shows large festivals such as Novarock Festival, Donauside Festival and Out Of The Woods.
