Fastener made their live debut in 2022 and have been capturing hearts in Olympia Washington’s DIY scene ever since. Longtime friends Sam Costello and Jim Rhian (Tyranny Bell, Pigeon Pit) landed in Olympia by way of Lincoln, Nebraska. They write the songs, sing and play guitars, rounded out by Ian Francis (Thin Veil) on drums and Josh Hoey (Pigeon Pit) on bass. Fastener lends a welcome variety of sound to Olympia’s indie scene, with their 90s emo influence and dueling vocals. Think along the lines of Braid and The Promise Ring. Their live sets are energetic and fun, easily moving crowds to bop along. This is the band’s first time releasing recordings out into the world. “Oil Change” is a certifiable ear worm, it’s sure to make a home in your head.
