Fattú Djakité was born in Guinea-Bissau and raised in Cape Verde, where she began her musical career at the age of 13. With over 20 years of experience, she has evolved from a backing vocalist into one of the most powerful voices in contemporary African music.
She recorded the album Praia Bissau in Rio de Janeiro, released in 2022, and founded the band AZÁGUA in 2019. In 2023, she was awarded Best Female Performer at the Cabo Verde Music Awards and recognized by Bantumen as one of the 100 most influential Lusophone personalities.
Beyond music and visual arts, she is a committed activist. In 2024, she led the Badjuda Bonita campaign, focused on women’s empowerment, and created the channel PrevinidiaBusoSexual, where she promotes sexual abuse prevention and offers a safe space for open dialogue. In 2025, she released Badja Tina, a viral anthem against child forced marriage. Her art carries strength, healing, and ancestry.
