Faunoos

Faunoos is an Iranian musician and performer, born in Tehran, Iran.
She started her music journey playing classical piano. She quickly developed her passion for jazz and discovered her voice by singing alongside her piano. The piano continues to be an inseparable part of her music and life.
She was a teenager when she became interested in theatre. In 2017, she collaborated with Ankido Darash in making the soundtrack for “Aquarium”, a theater production directed by Siamak Ehsaei. This piece won the best music award at the 36th Fajr International Festival.
She received classical vocal training from Hasmik Karapetian. This further propelled her career and she was cast in the musical “Les Miserable” in 2018 in Tehran. Throughout 2018, Faunoos, Arash Zarabi, and Sourena Roghani created the Walkman Project which they later performed at the Karbast Festival at Darbast Platform and the Voice Project at Rooberoo Mansion in 2019. This project contains memorable Persian cover songs from the latest decade.
Lately, Faunoos has been searching for her authentic voice to produce her own original music. She’s been drawn to global and Persian folk music and her debut album is a collection of lullabies with distinct influences from around the world. She has cooperated with Arash Zarabi and Pouya Eshghinejad in producing the album.
Faunoos is currently studying music at the California Institute of the Arts and pursuing her new path as a Performer/Composer.
