Founded by former Beagle frontman Magnus Börjeson, Favorita was a short-lived Swedish alternative pop/rock band in the late '90s. While he was the frontman of Beagle, Börjeson experienced limited success with the albums Sound on Sound (1992) and Within (1993), which never sold much, but are critically well-regarded. Börjeson founded Favorita in 1994 after departing Beagle, and the band made its recording debut with the single "Seven Comforts" in 1996. That same year, Favorita was selected to open for Brit-pop superstars Pulp on their Swedish tour. Planned for release in 2007, Favorita's full-length album debut was finished but unfortunately shelved by the label. Frustrated by the unissued album experience, Börjeson left Favorita behind and began doing soundtrack work instead. In 2007, ten years after it was shelved, the eponymous album Favorita was released on Popsicle Records with a bunch of bonus material. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
