Fawn is the pet project of transatlantic singer-songwriter Ilana Zsigmond. Born in England to musical parents, Ilana spent the majority of her childhood in New Haven, Connecticut, bouncing back and forth between continents as her parents toured. After settling in York in 2015, she has formed a band that reflects the Americana aesthetic that surrounded her throughout her childhood with the articulation and dry-wit of her British sensibilities.

Her first EP Homebody is an acoustic exploration of the relationships between family, home and self, influenced by her complex struggles with belonging and national identity. Featuring a song each for her mother, father, and sister, Ilana’s songwriting is heartfelt, evocative, and wise beyond her years. Her latest single Burden, set for release in January 2020, is a venture into a larger full-band sound, highlighting her pop sensibilities over a ruled notepad of folk grounding.

Whether appearing solo or accompanied by her band of merry men, her vocal strength and poetic songwriting remains at the heart of Fawn.
