Formed in 2014, Fifth Dawn have readily and steadily garnered attention for their skill and perseverance as Australia’s pre-eminent producers of female-lead alternative rock.
Their debut single ‘Turbulence’ helped them become Triple J Unearthed High Finalists. This single sold more than 5000 copies in the second half of 2015 after making its radio debut on Triple J. The band then supported Hands Like Houses, Columbus and Far Away Stables playing successful shows in Melbourne and Sydney. Their debut EP ‘The Horizon’ generated over 500,000 plays on Spotify.
The band remained in hiatus throughout 2016 - 2017, as they managed band member’s differing commitments, until vocalist Samantha Faul returned reinvigorated. Their album ‘Duality’ was released to a strong online fanbase in April 2018, and while the band retreated to the studio during COVID their fanbase has continued to grow organically, amassing millions of streams internationally.
Come 2022, and with another album slated for 2024 - their singles ‘Return’ and ‘In Between’ reveal the band at their strongest yet: thunderous and undeniably emotive; the all consuming resurgence of Fifth Dawn has been welcomed with great enthusiasm, selling out their single launch at Oxford Art Factory and securing spots in editorial playlists on Spotify, Apple, Amazon and AWA across Australia, Germany, Austria and Japan.
