Fifth Essence

Fifth Essence is a Brazilian alternative rock band formed in 2020 by singer and songwriter Virgínia Takai and multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer Edu Caldeira.

The project began during the pandemic when Virgínia and Edu started composing and producing together in their home studio. With lyrics that explore deep emotions and overcoming struggles, the band brings a conceptual sound, blending cinematic elements with the intensity of rock.

The band’s first single, “White Rabbit”, was released in May 2021 and was composed by Virgínia as a tribute to her friend Justin Lassen, who was supposed to be part of the general production but sadly passed away before the project was completed.

Recently, the band welcomed two new members: Tito Mota (bassist) and Athos Bartolelli (drummer), solidifying its lineup for upcoming projects. Additionally, Fifth Essence has partnered with Valetes Records, expanding its opportunities within the music industry.

Currently, Virgínia Takai, Edu Caldeira, and the other band members are working on three conceptual EPs, which will tell a compelling story through a Virtual Reality experience. The plot follows a character who, throughout her journey, loses her five human senses and emotions, gradually transforming into a machine.

With this innovative concept, Fifth Essence aims to push the boundaries of music and art, offering listeners a unique and immersive audiovisual experience.
