Filip Finado

A Stockholm-based americana-loving songwriter, Filip Finado is your absence of gravity. With spaghetti western guitars, fragile string sections and pedal steel, Finado rocks the listener into a light levitating feel. Previously having studied tabla in Kolkata, touring China playing the key harp and supporting artists like Arvid Lizell on the violin, Finado finally decided to release his own material in 2020. In May 2024 a full album was released, recorded with his band in Hermitage Recording (Stockholm).

"The name Filip Finado is a symbol of how everything in this world is perishable. Most of us fear death, and struggle to make an imprint on the world. Something to remember us by. But death is inevitable and eventually we will be forgotten. I thought the Portugese word 'Finado', translated to deceased, would remind me to make music out of the right reason. Not to be driven by self-assertion or acknowledgement from others, but to let music through that somehow matters on its own. Whether this body is still in the game or not.”
