Born in Viareggio (Italy) in 1979, Filippo Antonini starts to play at the age of 16, studying the masters of the Blues: Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Albert King, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Right then he put his band together and performs all around the Country.
In 2002 he’s chosen by The Tommy Castro Band to open their gigs during the European tour. This allows Filippo to be known abroad and play all over the world with some of the best musicians of the Blues world scene: Duke Robillard, Elvin Bishop, Nine Below Zero, Otis Taylor, Eric Sardinas, Paul Lamb & The King Snakes, Anthony Paule, Angela Strehli, Chris Cain...
Later on he meets the Mexican producer Juan Salinas (Latin Grammy Awards and Premios Arpa winner) and records his first bilingual project available worldwide: The Time Has Come / El Tiempo Llegó, in which he joins the Blues with Funk, R&B and Gospel.
Meanwhile Filippo graduates with Massimo Varini, one of the best Italian teachers and guitarists (Mina, Adriano Celentano, Eros Ramazzoti, Laura Pausini, Renato Zero, Gianni Morandi, Andrea Bocelli, Biagio Antonacci, ...) and attends master classes with Ian Pace (Deep Purple), Carl Palmer (Emerson Lake & Palmer), Robben Ford and Luca Colombo (Al Jarreau, Lionel Ritchie, Phil Collins, Michael Bublé, Umberto Tozzi, ...)
