Filip Aleksander Rodak, known online as filiprodak, writes, produces, mixes, and masters his music from his home in Colchester, England. His sound is inspired by a wide range of artists, especially the big names from the 2010s EDM scene — Madeon, Porter Robinson, Avicii, Zedd, and Dabin. Alongside these influences, he also blends in elements of French House, Disco Polo, and the rock music he grew up hearing live in Colchester’s local scene.
filiprodak’s musical journey started by chance when he was just 12, downloading a music production app and spending hours experimenting. Though those early tracks are now lost to time, they sparked a passion that led him to receive FL Studio as a gift in 2020. Since then, he’s been nonstop in the studio — and on stage — performing at events like Battle of the Bands at Colchester’s Three Wise Monkeys pub and more recently, the Colchester Arts Centre.
He’s also collaborated with some talented artists, including Argentinian producer / DJ Zai Kowen and Alex Walder, the lead singer of Bliss, on his latest track, “Circles.” “Circles actually started as a remix of ‘A Kiss’ by The Driver Era. I loved it so much I wrote my own, personal lyrics to it, and it grew into a full-fledged track,” Filip shares. What began as a quick remix, turned into something much more important: a song that reflects his personal experiences and emotions in a way he hadn’t explored before.
