FILIUS BLUE is a composer duo—Colombian-American ALEXANDER STIX-BRUNELL and French-Canadian URIEL VANCHESTEIN—that creates original music for film and television.
Known for their modern approach to storytelling, FILIUS BLUE’s two founders come from starkly different musical backgrounds…one from high-end production music—previously a composer in-house at Hans Zimmer’s Emmy-winning Bleeding Fingers Music; the other from the symphonic/contemporary concert music scene—having also composed for the Emmy-nominated Netflix series Chef’s Table. The result of this collaboration is an unconventional and stirring musical style that enhances the on-screen narrative.
Collectively + Independently, both composers have worked on hit TV shows for FOX and DISCOVERY Channel, as well as Netflix and Apple TV+. Alex and Uriel met at USC’s film-scoring master’s program, after having graduated respectively from Brown University and the Juilliard School.
