FILM (IN)

FILM a.k.a. Sanil Sudan is a New Delhi based DJ, Producer and curator at the two mainstays for electronic music in the capital. Sudan makes dancefloor-friendly House, Breaks and IDM under the alias FILM. To celebrate old Detroit techno through leaner productions, Sudan uses the moniker Tyrell Dub Corp.

Tastemaker festivals – namely Bordeaux Open Air (France), Magnetic Fields Festival (Alsisar), Far Out (Mumbai), Garbicz (Germany) and Satellite Beach Festival (Goa), among others have experienced the sound of FILM – breaks immersed in ambient play and jarring synths eased by cowbell chimes moving from steely techno to laidback electronica.

FILM’s earlier discography has been supported by Needs (UK), Boxout.fm Recordings (India), Love International (Malaysia) and Krunk Kulture (India). His rise as a South Asian selector and producer has been chronicled by MixMag, Resident Advisor, Border Movement, XLR8R, a pulsating mix for Crack Magazine, Groove and DJ Mag. His music has been featured on radio shows and by an exhaustive list of DJs around the world including BBC Radio 6 (Mary Anne Hobbs) , rinse.fm (Tasha) and worldwide.fm

On the domestic front FILM is frequently reviewed and quoted in leading publications from India Today, Rolling Stone India to Wild City.
