Finglebone

Finglebone started out in the late nineties recording layered guitar parts using two tape cassette recorders as a makeshift four track.
James E. M. Smith joined on drums and from this came a series of instrumental sessions, evolving into ‘Towers’, the first release of finglebone. James returned to lend his poem ‘Grovely’ and voice to the song ‘blazing golden sun’ from ‘Sunlit Plumes of Dust’.
Adam continued to write music layering guitar and In 2008 released ‘Empty rooms, forgotten songs’, this was followed by a shift into a more ambient, noise and concrete musical style with ‘23’, a dark and contemplative album.
Finglebone created a live set and played support to Enablers, Aethenor, Loscil, Barn Owl, Expo70, Ancient Ocean, Alasdair Roberts.
Recently finglebone released ‘Sunlit Plumes Of Dust’ Dec 2016 (WhiteLabel Records), the most successful album to date and then toured in 2017.
2016 saw a return to the purity of his guitar with ‘sunlight scatters river shimmers’ recorded by the river Nadder, Salisbury.
Influenced by ambient, folk, drone and electronica finglebone straddles these genres live with improvised guitar, melding them in sonic bliss.
