An artist moving fluidly between music and theatre, Finn Anderson is one of Scotland’s most enchanting storytellers—one who finds magic in the borderlands between myth and memory, human and more-than-human. With a voice as tender as it is commanding, his songs stretch from whispered confessions to sweeping drama, strung together by striking lyrics that go straight for the heart.
Finn was raised in a small fishing village in Fife, Scotland. Touring the UK and beyond, he has shared stages with Patrick Wolf, Rachel Sermanni, Horse McDonald, Douglas Dare, The Magic Lantern, James Yorkston and Sam Lee. His critically-acclaimed second album, Into the Arms of Ghosts, was praised for both its cinematic scope and its intimacy, drawing comparisons to ANOHNI & The Johnsons, Rufus Wainwright and Sufjan Stevens. As part of Bogha-frois: Queer Voices in Folk, Finn is part of a growing movement of LGBTQ+ artists reimagining Scottish tradition.
As a theatre-maker, Finn co-created the award-winning musicals Islander and Ballad Lines, blazing a trail for ambitious and innovative Scottish music theatre, taking him from rural community halls in the Highlands to Off-Broadway in New York.
