The Danish/Norwegian band FJELL released three albums between 2005 and 2010, and now they're back with a massive release schedule. After a ten year break, the band has been struck by a frenzy of delirious productivity and will be releasing three full albums in 2020!
October 2 – “Fjell 4”
December 11 – “Wreck”
December 31 – “Bloobers”.
Founded in April 2002 by Knut E. Haavik who was born and raised north of the polar circle in the town of Narvik, Norway. In 1990, 21 years old, he moved to Denmark and joined Hotel Hunger. With them he composed, produced and played guitar on four albums. “Mars needs guitars” sold 18.000 copies and was nominated to five Danish Grammies among others best rock album and best producer. The first Fjell album “Skateboarder” was released in Denmark, Norway and Sweden in June 2005 on the EMI/Noiz label. In the spring of 2006 the band played a Danish club tour, and after a half year break the recordings for their second album began. And very soon they discovered a strange parameter for a successful song: The more 'Oh Yeah's - the better the song. This turned out to be a dogmatic rule for the album, and when “We are the world - we are the chicken” was released in 2008 it contained a total of 31 Oh Yeah's. This seemed to perfectly sum up the positive vibe on the album. Two years later in 2010 the very sustainable and very green album “No Bullshirt” was released and since then the band has maintained absolute radio silence for ten years.
