Flannelog

What started as three guys jamming in their college basement at the University of Washington, Flannelog formed when a random passerby asked Dave Anderson, Ethan Dunaway and Tyler Schmitz to play at a house party. Drawing on the imagery of Seattle Grunge and their new found interest of vinyl and analog synthesizers, the name Flannelog was born. In 2019, after the addition of Joe Schweitzer, Austin Legge, and Morocco Branting they released their first self produced EP "Thank You For Not Smoking". Since then they have played at The Sunset Tavern, High Dive, and The Funhouse.


"They start jamming out to 'Copenhagen' which revolves around distorted bass lines, guitars that cut through like knives and a driving beat. The band has a garage rock type vibe but also sounded similar to a band like Bloc Party. It’s fun with hooks and has a good amount of energy."
"The band has a good amount of nostalgia on 'Denim Jacket and a Nose Ring.' There are elements of surf and ’50s pop on this song. It’s another catchy tune and I loved the electric key solo. 'Crown Jewel' might be the highlight. It's a fleshed out song that isn’t too far from a ’70s ballad mixed with modern indie rock.
