FLESHDRIVER are certainly not breaking the mold, especially nowadays with the overwhelming influx of Boss HM-2 inspired SWEDeath flooding the scene,(in which we are certainly guilty of feeding into) but they do it WELL! While the music floats between early Grave / Nihilist / Entombed, Wolverine Blues-era Death N' Roll, and even a pinch of Gothenburg (on Morte Agitur), there is something geniune in FLESHDRIVER's delivery that makes it not only convincing, but a worthwhile listen. The one tune that stands out from the rest of the pack is the last track on the demo, The Golden Calf. The intro riff alone, before everything kicks in, sounds like it could be the launch of a Godflesh tune. The rest of it turns out to be more Hardcore influenced ala Black Breath or Trap Them in their dirgier moments.
