Florian Dohrmann, born in 1972, studied jazz and pop music at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart.
1997 saw the creation of the <a href="spotify:artist:09RBNvR3c1nGKpvwPcBSyh" data-name="David Orlowsky Trio">David Orlowsky Trio</a>, and henceforth Dohrmann concentrated his conceptual and composing skills on this ensemble. Schott Music/Advance Music published a selection of his compositions in the music books of the Trio. He also records as a sideman for a variety of productions, or devotes his time to his own projects like the Florian Dohrmann Quartet, a cool jazz band with which he released the CD <a href="spotify:album:1MNzCVQeeqRAjMnMRcbfKn" data-name="Medium Dry">Medium Dry</a>.
In 2019, after making music together for 21 years, the <a href="spotify:artist:09RBNvR3c1nGKpvwPcBSyh" data-name="David Orlowsky Trio">David Orlowsky Trio</a> played its last concerts and their collaboration in creating their „chamber.world.music“ ended. They produced 6 CDs with Sony Classical, were awarded 2 Echo Klassik prizes and performed lots of concerts in Germany and abroad, playing at renowned festivals like Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival as well as in concert halls such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Carnegie Hall, New York.
2019 Dohrmann turned back to his roots. He introduced his jazz quartet ”Blank Page" with "New Impressions of <a href="spotify:artist:0zNqcxzHKGYQ4PwJFyqBQi" data-name="Debussy">Debussy</a>", he started a new Duo with accordionist <a href="spotify:artist:5YRH2BPYBzzsvRLhhY5Dn0" data-name="Klaus Paier">Klaus Paier</a> and he celebrates the great artist <a href="spotify:artist:7G1GBhoKtEPnP86X2PvEYO" data-name="Nina Simone">Nina Simone</a> with the show "Die Nina Simone Story".
Since 2021 he also works again with <a href="spotify:artist:1oVy0zB6AEOSezALIF0qP0" data-name="Jens-Uwe Popp">Jens-Uwe Popp</a>. Together with <a href="spotify:artist:6PRJDwCAsxmRhprl7VyN7Y" data-name="Jochen Roß">Jochen Roß</a> they create a very special plucked chamber music.
