Fly Jones is an American “trap-hop” artist originally from New York with an unusual look and unrelenting sound. The ski-mask-sporting rapper (behind the “Minding my Business” video that went viral on WorldStar Hip Hop this spring) keeps his identity a secret, but when it comes to his music he holds absolutely nothing back.
While East Coast and Midwest influences shine through Fly Jones’ aggressive flow and mastery of vocabulary, his anonymous identity makes him a universal figure whose only true home is the internet. As Fly explains, “I grew up in the area where 50 Cent comes from, Run- DMC...it’s a music mecca. Then with my cousins rapping and everything it set me up to be active in music. But I really only started putting music together seriously three years ago and I’ve followed the message of ‘no face, no case.’ This is something that only certain people understand. I’ve experienced things that only a select few people in the world have experienced. I’ve run empires that I can never tell the public about, but it has made me the person I am today. I have a past that I moved on from and I’m taking this craft here very serious. The charisma that I’ve developed along the way is still here, but I’m using it in a new way.”
Fly Jones’ first record “EerThang” came out in 2018 (premiered by WorldStar) featuring St. Louis artist El Hefe. It took off in views and was followed up by “Level(2),” a solo record
